Therefore, from its inception, the purpose of this guide has been not only to provide diver-friendly descriptions of the selected dive sites -- the standard information of any dive guide -- but also to list the key support facilities -- dive centers, dive organizations, recompression chambers, hospitals and conservation societies -- at each location so no one need ever be in doubt as to where to go for immediate aid or information. And, of course, DIVE includes addresses, telephone numbers, email, and websites for these facilities, as well basic information on first aid in case of emergency. This is a great introduction to dive destinations around the world. The only thing I would add is more detail to the different destinations. Each site typically covers around 2-3 pages of information and the "top sites" at the locations. It has opened my eyes to many places I will visit in the future. Rating - Great general resource. While the book does not "dive" too deep into any location, it does a great job of giving you a brief on what to expect. The quick reference areas that provide quick reference are great. While the book will offer limited details if you know where you are going, if you doing a general search for your next dive it is perfect. Rating - The Ultimate Guide Actually, an "ultimate guide" would have a greater variety of more detailed information for planning a trip. That said, it is a gorgeous book. Gave it as a gift to my dive buddy/husband, and he loved it. Great ideas for places to go that are off the beaten path.
