The $100 bill is currently the highest denomination note issued by the U.S. Treasury. It is the most circulated note today, even exceeding one dollar notes. It is the second most printed currency, second only to the $1 denomination. It is the most widely held note. Most hundred dollar bills are held outside of the United States. Early one hundred dollar bills (1861 to 1891) are scarce to very rare. The face of Benjamin Franklin has been featured on every $100 note from 1914 to now.
